We begin our Taste Experience with an antipasto platter, with a selection of crostini, typical local salami and Pecorino DOP cheese. The delicious flavours are complemented by sweet honey, strawberry jam, delicately spicy fig preserve and Morellino di Scansano, a classic red wine from the area. To follow, our Cesarina serves a hearty first course of polenta with cavolo nero and lardo di Colonnata, a typical local sausage.
For the second course, we have a perfectly succulent duck breast with fruits of the forest. The fruits’ balance of sweetness and tartness is the perfect marriage for the duck’s delicate flavour. On the side we have crispy countryside roast potatoes, which are kicked up a notch with a scattering of breadcrumbs and a pinch of curry powder.
To round off the Taste Experience, Giovanna prepares a pastry tart with a rich vanilla cream filling. A scattering of pine nuts adds a distinctive touch to this truly indulgent dessert.
