Le Cesarine

A delightful menu by the lagoon

Martellago / Veneto

La Cesarina

"Cooking has always been my passion. I particularly like to cook with seasonal ingredients and invent new recipes using ingredients found at home. My most loyal supporters are my grandchildren, who particularly appreciate the dishes I prepare. I always have many friends to dinner or lunch and in the warmer months, the garden is the perfect setting for many meals."

With these words, Clara tells us how she developed her love for cooking; starting with local products, our Cesarina prepares delicious dishes reinterpreting traditional Venetian recipes.

The secret of the Cesarina
I always have many friends to dinner or lunch, and in the warmer months, the garden is the perfect setting for many meals

Refined selection of local wines

Starting with local products, Clara prepares delicious dishes reinterpreting traditional Venetian recipes.  As a starter, we have the Venetian 'soppressa', a quality cured meat, strongly linked to the area where it is produced, an expression of local culture and rural gastronomic traditions, served with white polenta and grilled seasonal vegetables.

As a first course, a great classic: a simple dish of pasta and faisoi, or pasta with beans. The second course follows: oven baked Guanciale bacon in Cabernet wine, served with a side dish of sautéed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. A fragrant homemade bread accompanies all the dishes of this Taste Experience.
Clara's Pinza sweetly ends the meal. This is a dessert of peasant origin made from a family recipe. There are countless local and family varieties that can be found in Italy.

"This was one our best experiences in Bologna. Our hosts, Gianni and Lorenza, were a well travelled and interesting couple about similar ages to ourselves. They also spoke perfect English, having lived in Canada for many years. Gianni taught us how to make tortellini from scratch which we ate with our meal. Gianni is a fine and the rest of the meal was excellent. Their place is an apartment in a medieval Palazzo which was well worth seeing on its own. We really enjoyed it."

"Our dinner with Angela was the best experience of our visit to Rome. The food was delicious, and it was delightful to talk with Angela and her Mother about food, life in Rome, work, and the state of the world in general. This experience would have been impossible for us without Le Cesarine."

"We had a wonderfull lunch time with Tania (30 minutes outside from Bologna). She was an excellent host and very charming. We enjoyed her traditional courses (antipasti, strozzapretti con salsiccia, brasato al limone) very much and could highly recommend her. The atmosphere was very relaxed and it was easy to drive to her. We would come again."
