Le Cesarine

From Panzanella to grilled Pecorino

Firenze / Toscana

La Cesarina

Our Cesarina Chiara is a real Florentine! She was born in Florence and she is still living there to this day: «I love my country and my city, too». What more can we say? Florence is so wonderful and also world famous for its traditions, its art and, of course, for its cuisine.

Chiara welcomes her guests in her flat near San Frediano, one of the most authentic Florentine neighborhoods , with an amazing view of the city. Delicious food, sublime wine and a lot of joy: these are the key ingredients of Chiara's recipes.

The secret of the Cesarina
"my cooking keeps me in touch with my roots: I serve traditional dishes according to old family recipes."

Refined selection of local wines

To begin this Taste Experience, Chiara serves a traditional antipasto that comes from the region’s strong farming tradition: bruschette, soaked with olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper, and topped with fresh tomatoes.

Next, we have a first course that has ancient and humble origins, the ‘panzanella’. This exquisite dish is the perfect antidote for the hot summer weather, as it is served cool. This simple and refreshing delicacy is made with stale Tuscan bread, tomatoes, cucumber, onion and basil - it’s a feast of flavours that the whole family will enjoy. For the second course, Chiara serves a typical local dish, grilled pecorino cheese accompanied by a fresh vegetable ‘pinzimonio’.

This colourful Taste Experience finishes with a sumptuous dessert, crème pâtissière ‘alla fiorentina’.

Our customers says

"This was one our best experiences in Bologna. Our hosts, Gianni and Lorenza, were a well travelled and interesting couple about similar ages to ourselves. They also spoke perfect English, having lived in Canada for many years. Gianni taught us how to make tortellini from scratch which we ate with our meal. Gianni is a fine and the rest of the meal was excellent. Their place is an apartment in a medieval Palazzo which was well worth seeing on its own. We really enjoyed it."

J. Bliss

"Our dinner with Angela was the best experience of our visit to Rome. The food was delicious, and it was delightful to talk with Angela and her Mother about food, life in Rome, work, and the state of the world in general. This experience would have been impossible for us without Le Cesarine."

D. White

"We had a wonderfull lunch time with Tania (30 minutes outside from Bologna). She was an excellent host and very charming. We enjoyed her traditional courses (antipasti, strozzapretti con salsiccia, brasato al limone) very much and could highly recommend her. The atmosphere was very relaxed and it was easy to drive to her. We would come again."
