Le Cesarine

Summer delights in Le Marche

Lapedona / Marche

La Cesarina

An undulating landscape covered in colourful fields and enchanting medieval towns nestled high in the hilltops. If you have an image in your head of the ‘postcard’ image of Central Italy, then Lapedona is the place for you. Located at the top of a hill near the city of Fermo, this lovely town is half way between the Adriatic Sea and the Apennine mountains.

Daniele’s house is a little outside the town, and is surrounded by stunning countryside. In this wonderful location, our Cesarino serves the best of his local cuisine to his lucky guests.

The secret of the Cesarina
"You can find the very soul of Le Marche in these hills"

  • Panzanella salad
  • Zucchini 'parmigiana', oven-baked with a tomato and cheese sauce
  • Fresh mushroom salad with spelt, cherry tomatoes, and cubes of primosale cheese
  • 'Maccheroncini di Campofilone' fresh pasta with lemon and ham
  • Ravioli pasta parcels filled with ricotta and herbs with a tomato and basil concasse
  • Turkey roulade with omelette and vegetables with creamed carrot and onion
  • Fresh garden salad
  • Peach semifreddo dessert

Refined selection of local wines

For the starter, we have a selection of Le Marche’s delights: Daniele serves a classic panzanella salad, a dish that is often served in the central regions of Italy, which is made with stale bread, red onion and basil. This is followed by a delicious zucchini parmigiana, and a salad of mushroom, cherry tomatoes and shards of young pecorino cheese known as ‘primosale’.

After this rich and varied starter, we have two first courses. First, Daniele serves maccheroncini di Campoglione, which are small pasta shapes typical to the area which are served in lemon and ham. We also have tasty ravioli filled with ricotta and ‘erbette’ leaves, served in a tomato and basil concassé. For the second course, our Cesarino serves rolled roast turkey with frittata, vegetables, cream of carrot and onion, and a fresh salad on the side.

To finish on a refreshing note, Daniele opts for a delicate peach semifreddo.

Our customers says

"This was one our best experiences in Bologna. Our hosts, Gianni and Lorenza, were a well travelled and interesting couple about similar ages to ourselves. They also spoke perfect English, having lived in Canada for many years. Gianni taught us how to make tortellini from scratch which we ate with our meal. Gianni is a fine and the rest of the meal was excellent. Their place is an apartment in a medieval Palazzo which was well worth seeing on its own. We really enjoyed it."

"Our dinner with Angela was the best experience of our visit to Rome. The food was delicious, and it was delightful to talk with Angela and her Mother about food, life in Rome, work, and the state of the world in general. This experience would have been impossible for us without Le Cesarine."

"We had a wonderfull lunch time with Tania (30 minutes outside from Bologna). She was an excellent host and very charming. We enjoyed her traditional courses (antipasti, strozzapretti con salsiccia, brasato al limone) very much and could highly recommend her. The atmosphere was very relaxed and it was easy to drive to her. We would come again."
