Le Cesarine

The great spectacle of Turin's cuisine

Torino / Piemonte

La Cesarina

Mirella is originally from Sicily, but has lived in Turin for many years and, over time, has absorbed all the traditions of the area. Our Cesarina, in fact, has fully embraced the culture of Piedmont, also falling in love with its culinary aspect. Now she has learned the secrets of the local cuisine by heart, a cuisine famous for the quality and authenticity of its products. Without forgetting the great variety of menus, in turn influenced by the richness of landscapes: from the hills to the lakes, from the mountains to the plains.

The home of our Cesarina is located a few steps from the beautiful Valentino Park, one of the largest and most fascinating green areas of Turin. Mirella is ready to welcome us in a refined and well-appointed home to begin a journey through the flavors of the area.

The secret of the Cesarina
I cultivate my passion every day. I am always looking for new recipes and I love playing with flavors of the past.

  • Crepes with herbs and Murazzano cheese
  • Plin Ravioli with butter and sage
  • Rabbit Rolata
  • Roast potatoes
  • Peach Melba with amaretto cookies

Refined selection of local wines

To begin this Taste Experience, Mirella prepares a typical delight of local cuisine, crepes with herbs and Murazzano cheese. The dish shows off the finest Piedmontese ingredients: herbs, such as Catalonia chicory or other leafy green vegetables, and fresh, creamy sheep’s cheese.

Later, as the first course, another timeless classic makes its appearance at the table. We are talking about the Plin Ravioli, small pasta parcels sautéed in butter and sage, a delight for even the most discerning of palates. Next, the Rabbit 'Rolata', with a ham stuffing. This is a dish that is part of the Piedmont folk culture and our Cesarina serves it along with a dish of oven-roasted potatoes.

No Taste Experience is complete without a good dessert. It's time for a Peach Melba with amaretto cookies, one of the most famous desserts of Piedmont, made by baking peaches in sugar and accompanying them with the delicate crunch of the almond cookies.

Our customers says

"This was one our best experiences in Bologna. Our hosts, Gianni and Lorenza, were a well travelled and interesting couple about similar ages to ourselves. They also spoke perfect English, having lived in Canada for many years. Gianni taught us how to make tortellini from scratch which we ate with our meal. Gianni is a fine and the rest of the meal was excellent. Their place is an apartment in a medieval Palazzo which was well worth seeing on its own. We really enjoyed it."

"Our dinner with Angela was the best experience of our visit to Rome. The food was delicious, and it was delightful to talk with Angela and her Mother about food, life in Rome, work, and the state of the world in general. This experience would have been impossible for us without Le Cesarine."

"We had a wonderfull lunch time with Tania (30 minutes outside from Bologna). She was an excellent host and very charming. We enjoyed her traditional courses (antipasti, strozzapretti con salsiccia, brasato al limone) very much and could highly recommend her. The atmosphere was very relaxed and it was easy to drive to her. We would come again."
