Le Cesarine

What’s Tuscany without Pappa al Pomodoro?

Pistoia / Toscana

La Cesarina

Our Cesarino has inherited his passion for cooking from his grandmother, who passed on to him her recipes of the typical dishes of the Tuscany. Beginning as a simple hobby, his interest in cooking has increased over time: Maurizio thus decided to take specialist cooking classes, like those for bread and pastry making, or those for vegetarian cuisine. In conclusion, this Cesarino brings to the table typical dishes of the Tuscan tradition which are made both with passion and mastery.

Maurizio welcomes us in pretty Pistoia. This is a city which, although often forgotten by many tourist itineraries, is a real gem; charming and historically and gastronomically rich. Not to mention its strategic position halfway between Lucca and Florence!

The secret of the Cesarina

Description

The flavorful experience which Maurizio offers begins with a rich appetizer: he brings to the table a board of mixed local cold-cuts, followed by the typical Tuscan crostini dressed with tomato or with delicate tartare.

Our Cesarino’s menu is truly an ode to the dishes of the Tuscan tradition. As such, the meal couldn’t lack the famous pappa al pomodoro, a thick Tuscan bread and tomato soup. This first course is simple and genuine and the star ingredient – the tomato – explodes with flavor!

Next up the guests get to enjoy juicy local meats, particularly the c and served with a refreshing salad and flavorful seasonal vegetables.

And to end there is the dessert par excellence, refreshing and tasty: a fruit bavarois which with its custard, gelatin, cream and fruit will leave you with an unforgettable memory!

Our customers says

"This was one our best experiences in Bologna. Our hosts, Gianni and Lorenza, were a well travelled and interesting couple about similar ages to ourselves. They also spoke perfect English, having lived in Canada for many years. Gianni taught us how to make tortellini from scratch which we ate with our meal. Gianni is a fine and the rest of the meal was excellent. Their place is an apartment in a medieval Palazzo which was well worth seeing on its own. We really enjoyed it."

J. Bliss

"Our dinner with Angela was the best experience of our visit to Rome. The food was delicious, and it was delightful to talk with Angela and her Mother about food, life in Rome, work, and the state of the world in general. This experience would have been impossible for us without Le Cesarine."

"We had a wonderfull lunch time with Tania (30 minutes outside from Bologna). She was an excellent host and very charming. We enjoyed her traditional courses (antipasti, strozzapretti con salsiccia, brasato al limone) very much and could highly recommend her. The atmosphere was very relaxed and it was easy to drive to her. We would come again."
